Green Stop Signs

We have all experienced trauma in some form throughout our lives. Written by an author with lived experience, Green Stop Signs will help people identify when they have experienced a traumatic event, understand their natural response to it and provide strategies for dealing with trauma. It demystifies our traumatic response process so that we can not only understand what is happening to us, but also identify the early warning signs that we may need to reach out for assistance in dealing with trauma. It is an early inter intervention resource to help prevent to onset of more serious mental health issues and condition

About

My name is Clive Holt

Clive Holt grew up in South Africa where he served in the South African Defence Force as a conscript in the late 80’s, which saw him deployed into Angola for the latter stages of the Angolan war. Clive later emigrated to Australia with his family and in 2005 he wrote and published At Thy Call We Did Not Falter, a frontline account of his experience in the Angolan war and subsequent struggles with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Through a combination of his own lived experiences and passion for mental health, Clive has worked extensively with veterans and assisted them on their own healing journeys. He has worked in the healthcare industry for over 15 years, during which time he was involved with the design and implementation of mental health and suicide prevention programs. Green Stop Signs is the culmination of this work and Clive’s ongoing research into understanding trauma and how we respond to it and, ultimately, to have the confidence to seek support by asking for help.
